Today in history: on this day in 1954 The Humane Society was established in America to protect animals from barbaric treatment. Now don’t get me wrong – I think it’s great that we have an organization that works to protect animals from cruel and inhumane treatment. In fact, there are numerous laws in our country which protect animals such as the bald eagle, sea turtles (as well as their eggs) and even ladybugs.
In striking contrast, the Supreme Court companion decisions Roe V. Wade and Doe V. Bolton (both of which were handed down in 1973) made it legal to abort unborn children throughout all nine months of pregnancy. Yes, healthy babies carried by healthy mothers. Every day in our country there are approximately 10,000 live births while we destroy 3,500 children through an inhumane surgical procedure called abortion, and that’s not even counting the children killed by chemical abortion. Maybe it’s time to establish a Humane Society for pre-born human beings to protect them from inhumane acts such as abortion. Let’s make abortion unthinkable!!
